Here on the Leading in Healthcare Podcast, we do things differently. Leadership resources always focus on what you should be doing, not who you should be becoming. Even in the minimal orientation some of us leaders get, its all about our intelligence and completing tasks, rarely is it about being more perceptive, more self aware, and being able to act on information and energy that transcends the 5 senses.
We end up doing ourselves a disservice, though, because the skills that I mentioned fold into something called Emotional Intelligence. Emotional Intelligence helps you become a better leader because it helps you understand and respond to emotions, transcend stressful moments, understand how you impact your team, and give you a heightened sense of situational awareness.
Today’s episode was inspired by an article I read from Farmwell Wisconsin and it has great tips to help you understand emotional intelligence and has some top tips from Tony Robbins on how to grow your emotional intelligence so that you can become a better leader.
